Cooking Class – Sweet Treats – Ozark Folk Center
Februrary 4 – 2012
Come spend a day learning the tricks of cooking sweet (but healthy) treats for your Valentine. We’ll make whole grain cookies and fresh fruit delight.This hands-on workshop will let you learn the skills to make these wholesome delights.
Class will be held from 10a.m. to 2p.m. and costs $30 per participant, due when you sign up. This fee will cover samples of what you’ve cooked and copies of the recipes.
· Class fee $30 payable at the time of registration. This fee is non-refundable unless we cancel the class.
· Registration deadline is 1-28-2012.
· Minimum students 3, maximum 8. If the class does not make, students will be notified the first business day after the registration deadline and offered the chance to switch to another class or receive a refund.
· Class starts at 10:00 a.m. Meet your instructor and pick up your packet in the Administration Building lobby. Class usually finishes about 2:00 with a break in the middle for lunch on your own. Bring a brown bag lunch to eat with the class.
Space is limited and pre-registration with payment is required no later than 1/28/12. Class needs 4 students to make and is limited to 12.
Please bring a brown bag lunch to eat with your tasty treats.
If the weather prohibits the class from being held, you will be offered your choice of a refund or a rescheduled date.

Hands on Craft Classes for Adults

Spend a morning getting your hands on a craft that has your interest. Classes are from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

4. Bath salts and lotion with a rose theme – Linda Odom

The cost is $25 per participant and space is limited so pre-registration is required no later than Feb. 2. A non-refundable $5.00 registration fee is due when you sign up and the remaining $20.00 is due directly to the teacher at the beginning of class. Most teachers accept cash or check.

Ozark Quilt Retreat – Ozark Folk Center

Sylamore Trail 50K – 25K Run

Racer Check In and Start
Racers can check in Friday February 17, 2012 from 4pm – 11pm. Check in will be held on the front porch of Anglers Restuarant in Allison, AR. Both races will start from Anglers parking lot. The 50k will begin at 7am and the 25k at 8am.
50k – Out and back course on 14.5 miles of trail and 1 mile of pavement. Two water crossings at approximately 2 miles and 30 miles.
25k – Out and back course 7.25 miles of trail and 1 mile of pavement. Two water crossings at approximately 2 miles and 14.5 miles.
Overall male and female. Finishers’ awards.
50K: $60 by December 9, 2011.
25K: $60 by December 9, 2011. (Yes, the same for both races now)

All entries received by December 9, 2011 will receive a sweatshirt.
In February, Arkansas’ weather can be freezing or in the 70’s. Be prepared for any weather conditions and dress accordingly.
This course is a well-traveled hiking trail & is marked with silver triangles and brown plastic posts. We will not place additional markings on the trail. However, we will use tape to mark aid stations and use flour to mark areas where the trail enters and leaves roads.
You will need to carry a water bottle. Aid stations will be approximately five miles apart. Water, Gatorade, soda and food items will be provided. NO DROP BAGS.
9 hours. This is strictly enforced. The finish line closes at 4:00 P.M.
